spiritnoise is an effort to chronicle my spiritual musings beyond the enthusiastic mark-ups that cover the pages of my Bible and the various theology books that I own. It's also an effort to motivate myself into reading more broadly and frequently on theological matters perhaps outside of my comfort zone.

I'm hoping this journal will allow me to better articulate (and thus better remember) those odd thoughts and epiphanies that come through my daily readings. And, I suppose, through my life experience - after all, without the latter to supplement the former, my nose in a book isn't doing me much good, is it?

As will no doubt be obvious, I am a Christian. I'm very sorry for the connotations this term has taken on over the last few centuries, but I'm not sorry to call myself one. After all, its most basic translation is "Christ-follower" – and since that's what I am, what else am I going to call myself?
